A little about me…
My name is Julia Czulak and I am a 16 year old beginner photographer located in North Norfolk, United Kingdom.
I was born and raised in a small village on the south of Poland and moved to the UK with my parents at the age of 4 years old, where I had to learn a new language and lifestyle from scratch. It was always really difficult for me to fit in so I always stayed really closely connected to all forms of art as a way to help myself express my feelings and emotions in an easier manner.
I discovered my passion for photography around the age of 11 when my dad, who was also interested in photography when he was my age, told me about his passion. This inspired me to give photography a go and quite frankly, I quickly grew to love it.
In High school, I studied GCSE Fine arts and achieved a Grade 7 allowing me to continue my journey onwards to College, where I now study Level 3 Extended Diploma in Photography.
One question I always get asked is why did I choose photography. The answer is always the same, “Photography is a way for me to present the world to people in a way we don’t usually perceive it.” Photography is my way of expressing my thoughts and creativity, building trust and communication with those that I work with, teaching myself new life skills as well as learning how to overcome any problems I might face.
This is why photography has become a huge part of me and will definitely continue growing within me, not only as a hobby but as a lifestyle, and I am not afraid of building my skills even if that means failing before reaching the top.
